 Condenser motors are found installed in air conditioning systems that move outdoor air across the condensing coil in outdoor condenser/compressor unit. The air movement across the condensing coil transfers heat to outdoor air and lets high pressure or temperature refrigerant inside the condensing coil to condense from a gas back to a liquid refrigerant. 

What’s The Purpose of the Condenser Fan Motor?

The condenser fan motor on the compressor unit comes from the need of transferring heat from the refrigerant system into outdoor air. The refrigerant gas is pumped from the indoor cooling coil through the outdoor compressor motor. As the compressor generates high pressure and temperature refrigerant gas, it needs to flow into the outdoor condensing coil (acting just like a car radiator with finned tubing).
